A Sad Waltz (also known as A Sad Waltz in D-Minor) is the post-rock guise of DJ Ringfinger, a Sydney-based sound artist with a London sensibility. dj ringfinger is the alter ego of DJ Ringfinger, a Sydney based sound collage maker, radio announcer and musician. He rarely ventures out into the day. He rarely ventures out into the night. Actually, we are not really sure where he ventures at all. Mainly to record stores, thrift shops and roadside rubbish dumps to find the source material for this odd listening, we guess.
Known for crafting immersive, cinematic soundscapes, the project thrives on found sounds and a DIY approach, transforming discarded audio fragments into haunting compositions. Each release is a layered narrative, often paired with visual and written elements, exploring themes of loss, memory, and the spaces between presence and absence. Drawing inspiration from the unpredictability of life and the beauty of imperfection, A Sad Waltz invites listeners into a world where every crackle and echo tells a story.
